Bring Me to My Knees
I've been playing around with FL Studio, exploring my long-overly-subdued creative side. Here's my first complete track...a little house music for ya.

As another Scott Allen said: “You have got to be kidding me. Wow. That’s not even blackhat, that’s asshat.”
One of the great challenges of my life is consistency, i.e., staying focused on the “best and highest use” of my time throughout the day. With my ADD tendencies, I get easily distracted. Since I work so much from my computer, I figured a desktop background would be a great way to give myself a little reminder throughout the day about my priorities. Here’s what I came up with:
"Strengths" are the things I'm best at. If my time is spent leveraging and growing these assets, happiness and wealth naturally flow.
"Opportunites" are the things I’m not as strong at managing, and the areas where the most opportunity to improve my life by either improving myself or, better yet, partnering with others. “Time” may seem kind of nebulous, but basically it’s a reminder that if I’m spending “work” time on anything that doesn’t leverage those key assets, I should be outsourcing it or not doing it at all. “Details” means I either need to outsource the management of the details or use some kind of tool to help manage them.
I see this several times throughout the day and ask myself these questions:
1. Am I making best use of my assets and building on them for the future?
2. Am I taking advantage of opportunities to get help with all the other things in my life that consume my time?
This helps me stay focused on the best and highest use of my time throughout the day.
I've been experimenting with creating a video vision board. This is my first attempt -- let me know what you think:
Twitter is a mold, and sometimes when things don’t fit the mold, it creates funny results:
“Dan And Jennifer is now following you on Twitter!”
Ordinarily I prefer something a little mellower when working, but when cramming for a deadline after midnight, I need something with a little more umph. Crank your volume to 11 and press play:
Thanks to @megfowler for turning me on to Mixwit.
Yesterday was my birthday. Today, I got my birthday present – two maids came and cleaned house for two hours. And, my wife’s coming home from a week in Costa Rica.

I thought immediately of this, possibly the happiest song ever written:
Another favorite happy song is “Oh Happy Day”, which is especially great when accompanied by slow-motion krumping:
Hope you’re having a happy day!
This was, understandably, a bit daunting at first.
Needs refinement still, but at least it works. See www.LinkedIntelligence.com in the right sidebar to see it in action.
If this doesn’t make you want to jump up out of your seat and say “Amen!”, then you should never be allowed around children ever again. J
